130 years of History and more !

Created in 1881 by Constant Feinte, close to Armentières in the North of France, our mill has been a family company for five generations.

The business started with treating linen and then moved into weaving. The family company today perpetuates the textile tradition in its Laval mill built in 1876 and repurchased in 1917 by the Feinte family.

The building itself is one of the finest industrial landmarks in Mayenne.  In 1960, all of the company?s operations were moved to the Laval site.

With the development of new technologies weaving of linens gradually yielded place to dyeing, printing and finishing of fabrics.

The evolution of the textile market lead us in the eighties to think of exports,  in particular to the USA,  then to Europe and Japan.  With a rich past and an ambitious future, our family business has been run by its fifth generation for the past several years.

Then, from 2005, new technologies appeared, especially inkjet printing. One first "little" inkjet printer was started in 2006 to make our first experience.

In 2011, a great step forward is done with the investment in an industrial printer that allow big productions and high quality.

In 2009, Tissus d'Avesnières was recognized as a "Living Heritage Company", for his exceptionnal know how.

In the meantime the company divesifies its offer and starts printing for luxurious leather good and apparel, fashion brands.

Tissus d'Avesnières is now managed by the fifth generation of the family.
